01 / Connection check
Do you need USB-C listening, or just charging?
Bose QC Ultra 2: USB-C audio: 16-bit at 44.1 or 48 kHz from a compatible source.
Sony WH-1000XM6: Sony describes USB-C as charging and lists a separate analogue headphone input.
Try your setup
Select the headphones as your laptop’s output, then check the microphone input separately in your conferencing app. Confirm the cable and source you will use, not just the port shape.
Evidence limit: A documented listening connection does not by itself establish a working USB microphone or measured call quality. SirDeal has not tested that setup.
02 / Connection check
Will the analogue cable cover your calls and a flat battery?
Bose QC Ultra 2: AUX requires power; the earcup microphone and Bluetooth are disabled in this mode.
Sony WH-1000XM6: Sony lists passive operation through its headphone cable.
Try your setup
If calls matter, inspect the input selected by your meeting app while using the exact cable. If battery backup matters, check the listening path with the headphones powered off before relying on it.
Evidence limit: Passive listening is not proof of headset microphone operation, noise cancellation or sound quality. Do not treat a cable in the box as a complete work-call solution.
03 / Connection check
Can the phone and laptop stay connected together?
Bose QC Ultra 2: Two active Bluetooth devices; audio plays from one at a time.
Sony WH-1000XM6: Sony lists multipoint support.
Try your setup
Pair your actual phone and laptop. Start laptop audio, pause it, then play phone audio; also check an incoming call in the configuration you use. Note any manual switching you find inconvenient.
Evidence limit: Multipoint is a connection feature, not a guarantee of simultaneous audio mixing, seamless behavior in every app or a representative reliability result.
04 / Connection check
Are you comparing music playback or a day of calls?
Sony WH-1000XM6: Listed maximum: music 30 hours with ANC, 40 without; communication 24 with ANC, 28 without.
Bose QC Ultra 2: Listed playback: up to 30 hours, or 23 with Immersive Audio.
Try your setup
Write down your expected call hours, listening hours and charging breaks. Choose the relevant mode before comparing headline numbers; check the remaining charge during your own routine.
Evidence limit: These are separate manufacturer conditions, not a shared endurance test. A playback maximum does not establish a full-day call-time winner.

06 / Buying decision
Settle the required connection before the price trade-off
Remove a model from your shortlist if it cannot meet a required workflow. If both work, compare comfort, the seller’s final price and eligible return terms. Keep your current headphones if neither upgrade solves a problem worth the cost.
The comparison shows dated US/USD manufacturer reference prices. Any community count there comes from real stored choices; a source check does not add to it.
